The Shed, Armadale

On the road to The Shed

An increasingly full Mr Laird settles for soup at The Shed in Armadale…

If you’re on the Isle of Skye, it’s worth going to Sleat in the South West.  It is a lesser-known part of the island but relatively lush and known as ‘The Garden of Skye’.

Armadale is the biggest settlement and for a snack with a difference, visit The Shed beside the pier.

Sit outside the tiny cafe and watch the frequent ferries to and from Mallaig or the small craft in the natural harbour.  We had home-made lentil and bacon soup with crusty bread and thoroughly enjoyed the combination of hearty fare and unique setting.

  1. Ive been there and ate at the very place! Some very interesting galleries producing beautiful pottery and Nigel Grounds paintings are well worth a look.
